Second Harvest is asking you (our great supporters/volunteers) to help us create a holiday wish list to fight hunger.  Help us come up with a creative list by sharing your ideas with us.

Think big—what would you like to see happen for hunger relief in 2012? These questions might help get you started:

• What should Congress do to end hunger?
• What would be the biggest help for food banks?
• How cand YOU – individual Americans – make a difference?
• What should corporate America do to help?

These ideas may be the start of something big. Help Second Harvest start the New Year off right!

End of Year Help Greatly Appreciated!

Dear Friends,

Second Harvest needs your help to make sure that Northeast Tennessee families and individuals who struggle with hunger receive enough food this winter. On the average over 37,000 people depend on the Food Bank every month. The need is especially great this time of year. We greatly appreciate your help.

PLEASE GIVE TODAY! 

Make a donation in honor or memory of a loved one. Second Harvest will send a card to the individual or family letting them know that you have given the gift of food to the hungry.

Sponsor a child. Over 4,000 chronically hungry children have been identified as not having enough food  to eat in the home. You can provide the food they need to thrive through the Food Bank’s Food  for Kids Backpack program. Your gift of $93 will provide one  child with a bag of nutritious snacks and easy to prepare meal items to take home from school every other weekend. Your help is needed so no child goes hungry. Specify your donation is for Food for Kids. 

TRIPLE YOUR GIVING at feedingamerica.org/bankofamerica and select your local food bank. For every $1 you give Bank of America donates $2. This is a limited time offer.

Food Bank Unveils New Truck for Mobile Food Pantry Program

Second Harvest is proud to announce that a newly customized truck has been donated by the American Idol/Idol Gives Back Foundation for the Mobile Food Pantry Program.  The truck will allow for the distribution of food into areas currently not served by the Food Bank.
